International Book Awards recognize preeminent writing dexterity from all over the world. International Book Awards accolades authors from any country of the world belonging to any race, caste or creed. International Book Awards comprises an array of awards that have been encouraging and honoring the best writing cultures of the world. The major awards include:
The award was established in 1996 and was co-sponsored by the Kiriyama Pacific Rim Book Foundation and the Center for the Pacific Rim at the University of San Francisco. The creations must be published in English or translated into English. The prize is categorized into fiction and non-fiction categories. The author and the publisher both get equal amount of the monetary prize received. The 2006 winner of the Award is Urrea, Luis Roberto for the book ‘The Hummingbird's Daughter'.
The award was initiated in 1987 and is awarded by the Commonwealth Foundation in association with the Book Trust and the Royal Over-Seas League. The award goes to works of prose fiction written in English by a citizen of the Commonwealth. The final judging and award ceremony is conducted in different Commonwealth countries each year.
