Children's Book Awards are an encouragement to keep up the good work on children book category. The achievers of children's book awards are excellent in dealing with children books and literature. The books that leave an indelible mark on a child psychology or are great source of inspiration for the children, or are great entertainers or are simply knowledgeable are accredited with Children's Book Awards.

Phoenix Award established in 1985 recognizes old work. The award is an accolade that is offered annually to a book originally published in English twenty years previously and did not gain a major award at the time of its publication.

Canadian Awards incorporates CLA Book of the Year for children book and Governor General's Awards. CLA Book of the Year for children book came into existence in 1947. This award comprises of a medal presented annually to the author of the best children's book published in Canada. The basic criterion for the eligibility of the award is a citizenship or possessing a resident certificate of Canada.

British Awards includes Carnegie Medal and Greenaway Medal for children books, Australian Awards comprises of Book of the Year and Picture Book of the Year, Children's Choice Awards consists of Young Reader's Choice Award and I. & J. Black Award and the New Zealand Awards constitutes of two acclamations Esther Glen Award and NZ Post Children's Book Awards.

Children's Book Awards accolades the best creation of children literature, fiction, and non-fiction volumes. Recent achievers of Children's book awards include the 2007 Caldecott Medal winner is the book Flotsam by David Wiesner .Flotsam is an imaginary tale that has a cinematic unfolding of discovery. The 2007 Newbery Medal winner is the creation Higher Power of Lucky written by Susan Patron.
