With a mission to serve the people, SonAir of Angola forms an important part of air transportation in the country. The airline is owned by SonAir Airline Services which is a division of Sonangol group of companies. Established in 1998, SonAir Airline services have a number of functions.
With Angola being the central hub of SonAir, the airline provides charter services for regular passengers which are limited to the southern region of Africa. These regional destinations of SonAir include Benguela, Huambo, Lubango, Catumbela, Cabinda, Ondjiva and Soyo. The only international destination is Houston.
The SonAir fleet is a combination of 16 helicopters and 26 airplanes. Its helicopters, that serves the personnel of the oil industry, runs several times each day between the mainland and the remote islands. The helicopters comprise Dauphin, Super Puma and Sikorsky. Airplanes for passenger service consist of the following aircrafts:

The comfort of the passengers is the key feature of SonAir. Thus the airline offers a number of in-flight services which include complementary snacks and drinks, special facilities for children, the old and the sick.
