Pamir Airways was founded in May 2005. Pamir Airways is Afghanistan's first private airline. The head quarter of this airline is situated at Kabul in Afghanistan. During Hajj seasons in 2004 and 2005 the airline carried around 24,000 pilgrims of Afghanistan to Saudi Arabia. A DC-10 airplane of Pamir Airways was catered free of cost for transporting the aid employees of Afghan Government and supplying necessary things to the victims of Indonesia who suffered from Tsunami.
