Mocambique Express airline has its base in the city of Maputo in Mozambique. The airline is known for its efficient domestic flights. The Mocambique Expresso hub lies at the Maputo International Airport. The airline also conducts charter services. It operates under the ICAO code of 'MXE'. The airline was established in 1995. It was an extension of Linhas Aereas de Mocambique or LAM. The Mocambique Express was initiated as a Special Operations Department of The LAM. After the initiation of its services it acquired a new name and started functioning as the Mocambique Expresso as an autonomous airline. The ownership of the airlines lies with LAM and according to the latest available data has around 50 employees working with it. The Mocambique Express Fleet comprises of one Bae Jetstream 41. In 2006 the airline included and operated a couple of CASA C212- Aviocar. The Mocambique Express's destinations include only local sites. The airlines has not yet ventured into international airlines operation.
