Founded in 1958 as Ostfriesische Lufttaxi, Lufthansa CityLine is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Lufthansa AG and a partner in the Lufthansa Regional concept. It operates as the regional airline of Lufthansa.
Lufthansa Cityline is based in Cologne, Germany. In 1999, Lufthansa CityLine was voted Airline of the Year by the Regional Airline World magazine, since it played a pivotal role in the integration of regional partners in Team Lufthansa. Lufthansa Cityline is also reputed for being the first all-jet airline in Europe's regional segment.
