Kish Airline was established in1988 and began its operations with an initial fleet comprising of a couple of airlines which were leased from Bulgaria airline. It acquired the necessary flying permission or the Air Operator Certificate in 1990 from the Civil Aviation authorities. The company suffered a bad run in the early 90s. The people at the helm of affairs at that point of time had to step down and the onus now lay on the newly appointed professionals. They transformed the company and tried to bring it back in the thick of things. Kish Air hub lies at the Mehrabad International Airport, Tehran.
The Kish Air fleet has six F-50 aircrafts and another six MD-83/ TU-154 M in its repertoire. The hub of Kish Airlines is located at Kish and its destinations include a large number of regional locations.
Apart from operating airlines Kish Air also conducts maintenance services. The unit, namely, Kish Air Maintenance Facility was specially built for the purpose of providing quality maintenance services to Kish Air.
