WestJet was established in 1996 and is known as WestJet Airlines Ltd. It provides both chartered and scheduled flights to several cities across Canada, Mexico, USA and Caribbean. It presently is the second biggest airline in Canada.

WestJet Check In Rules
Passengers can perform web, kiosk and mobile check in services within a time span of 24 hours to 60 minutes before the flight departs. However, in case of domestic WestJet flights it is better to be at the airport 90 minutes before take off. This time goes up to 2 hours for international flights.
The minimum time for passengers of domestic flights is 45 minutes before the flight leaves and an hour prior to departure for international flights. Passengers are supposed to be at boarding gates 10 minutes before take off for all flights. They are also required to keep important documents handy so that they are allowed to board the flight.
WestJet Baggage Rules
Passengers are allowed to take two carry on items on board and both of them need to be 22 pounds each. Two bags of 50 pounds each are allowed as checked baggage and two more can be taken after paying additional fee. The maximum limit for excess baggage is 50 to 100 pounds. Sports goods are allowed in exchange of extra payment.
WestJet Rules
Children under 2 years old are allowed to travel without fares. However, proper documentation is needed for them and they need to be carried on lap. Children between 2 -11 years need to be accompanied by someone who is at least 12 years old.
Pregnant women can travel at any time during their gestation but if the period has exceeded 32 weeks a doctor’s certificate would be required. Every passenger can carry 2 pets with themselves - cats, rabbits, dogs and birds are allowed. Group bookings are provided for at least 10 people.

WestJet offers a couple of reward programs - Frequent Guest Program and West Jet RBC MasterCard. With the Frequent Guest Program passengers can keep earning dollars even as they avail the airline's services. The West Jet RBC MasterCard provides a maximum bonus of 350 dollars.

Passengers can avail the online check in facilities from WestJet within a time span of 24 hours to an hour prior to take off. They can also print their boarding passes through this service. Travelers can also get information on flight status and itineraries.
