The erstwhile Italian carrier Volare Airlines was owned at the time of its closure by Alitalia – CAI S.p.A. When it ended operations, it operated flights to Italy and France and was based at Milan-Malpensa Airport.
Volare Airlines History
Volare Airlines was set up on the first day of 2008 and ended operations on 12th January 2009. It was an auxiliary company of Alitalia-LAI. At present the airlines works under Alitalia-CAI.
Volare Airlines Details
Volare Airlines operated from Milan-Malpensa Airport, which is located at Ferno. Its frequent flyer program was entitled MilleMiglia. It had a partnership deal with Alitalia Group and Air Europe was its subsidiary. Its parent company was Alitalia - CAI S.p.A
At the time of its closing the Italian carrier offered flights to 4 destinations in Italy and France - Paris, Lamezia, Brindisi and Milan. However, previously it also used to offer flights to several destinations across the world – Finland, Poland, Greece, Portugal, Japan, Romania, Malta, Spain, Netherlands, United Kingdom and Norway.
It had a couple of Airbus A320-200 but throughout its history it 48 other planes including Airbus A320, Boeing 757-200, Airbus A321, Boeing 767-300, Airbus A330-200 and McDonnell Douglas MD-83.
