Tiger Airways Singapore is officially known as Tiger Airways Singapore Pte Ltd and operates as a budget airline. It started services on 25th March 2005. It is owned by Tiger Airways Holding, which is headquartered in Singapore. Presently it is the biggest carrier in its category in Singapore with regards to amount of passengers transported.

Its hub is the budget terminal at Singapore Changi Airport and its slogan is "Get The Real Deal." Its CEO is Tony Davis, who also serves in a similar capacity with Tiger Aviation. Its MD is Stewart Adams.

Tiger Airways Regulations

Passengers may not be allowed on board a Tiger Airways if they are perceived as a security threat. They may even be asked to leave the flight at any point during the journey in such cases. No financial compensation is provided in these instances.

Passengers are not allowed to use cell phones or personal electronic devices during flight. However, they shall be able to use laptops, portable DVD players, walkmans, PDAs that are not cellular, digital mp3s and digital Dictaphones once the captain switches the fasten seatbelt sign off.

Smoking is not allowed and provision of alcoholic beverages is entirely at the discretion of the cabin crew and captain. Hot drinks are not allowed to be carried on board for security reasons.

Passengers need to be at the boarding gate at least half an hour before the flight leaves - boarding is not allowed after 20 minutes from take off. In case a passenger is late they would not be permitted to travel and their luggage would be offloaded.

No compensation is provided in such cases and passengers willing to avail the next flight need to buy new tickets. If passengers need assistance with their boarding they can call up Tiger Airways' call centers 72 hours before the flight departs.

Check in starts a couple of hours before the flight starts and ends 45 minutes prior to departure. They should also be responsible for their own travel papers such as passports and visas. Passengers are also recommended to avail substantial travel insurance before they travel.

Children under 2 years are allowed to travel without tickets and children less than 15 years would not be permitted to fly on their own.

Tiger Airways Booking

The Flight Combo service of Tiger Airways allows passengers to book more than one destination at once. This facility also has free city shuttle services whereby passengers will be able to tour the city where the plane is in transit if they have sufficient time. Group bookings are provided for at least 15 people.
