Running from 2004 to 2008 Thomsonfly was one of the top providers of chartered airline services besides offering passenger services across the globe. Based in Luton the aviation enterprise had 46 aircraft at its disposal.
Thomsonfly History
Thomsonfly was inaugurated in 2004. It was previously referred to as Britannia and was a part of TUI UK before September 2007 when TUI UK merged with First Choice Holidays. Following the deal it made up TUI Travel PLC, which was its parent company and continued to operate it along with First Choice Airways. Its independent existence came to an end on 1st November 2008 when both the carriers were combined to form Thomson Airways.

The hubs of Thomsonfly were London Gatwick Airport and Manchester Airport. It had an alliance with TUI Airlines and 46 aircraft. Its slogan was “Built with you in mind.” During its tenure it was the biggest provider of charter services. The carrier was based in Luton, United Kingdom and its MD was Chris Browne. Its DFO was John Murphy.
Thomsonfly offered flights across 4 continents – Africa, Asia, Americas, and Europe. In Africa its destinations were spread throughout Cape Verde, Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia and Kenya. In the Americas its flights were available from Aruba, Jamaica, Barbados, Mexico, Cuba, USA and Dominican Republic.
In Asia its flights could be availed from Cyprus, Maldives and India. Austria, Malta, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, Portugal, France, Spain, Greece, Switzerland, Ireland, Turkey, Italy and UK were the major destinations in Europe.
