PBair


The former Thai airline PBair started its passenger services in 1999, 9 years after it was originally founded. It folded up in 2009. It offered flights to various destinations within Thailand as well as outside it.

PBair History

PBair was established in 1990. Its founder was Piya Bhirom Bhakdi, Boonrawd Brewery's President - the flights were originally intended to ferry company staff. It procured a license to provide chartered flights in 1995 and operations were started in 1997.
Its flight operations were initiated in 1999 when the carrier started to partner with Air Andaman and Thai Airways International. Flights were shelved during November 2009 without any notice provided thereafter. Closure was announced in December 2009 by PBair who cited substantial losses as the main cause. It was officially filed on 21st December 2009 with concerned officers.

PBair Details

The hub of PBair was Suvarnabhumi Airport and its frequent flyer program was named Saen Sabai. It had a couple of ATR-72-500s that had been taken on rent from Bangkok Airways. P.B. Air Company Ltd was the parent company of the Thai carrier whose head offices were at Vadhana in Bangkok. The airline offered flights both within the country and De Nang and Seoul.
