Orient Thai Airlines is officially referred to as Orient Thai Airlines Co., Ltd. It is headquartered at the Thai capital city and operates in Thailand dealing in both scheduled and chartered services. Suvarnabhumi Airport is its main base. Over the years, Department of Civil Aviation of Thailand and National Transportation Safety Board have tested the airline for safety arrangements. Its IATA code is OX and ICAO code is OEA. ORIENT THAI is its Callsign.

Orient Thai Airlines History

Orient Thai Airlines was once referred to as Cambodia International Airlines. However, it was instructed by the Cambodian government to cease its operations over there. During November 1995 it was bought by its present owner cum chairman Udom Tantiprasongchai. He bought a couple of B727-200s and named the company Orient Express Air.

It was the earliest provider of international chartered services in Asia. It used to serve Finnair, LTU International, Lufthansa and Merpati in association with Kampuchea Airlines. It used to ferry refugees the world over and served the International Organization for Migration. They have assisted people from East Timor and Kosovo as well.

It has also served UN and carried peacekeeping forces across the world. The royal family of Saudi Arabia and Air India were also its clients and they have taken Haj pilgrims for them. Orient Thai, along with its subsidiary companies was asked to stop operations for 30 days thanks to inadequate maintenance record.

Orient Thai Airlines Promotions

Orient Thai Airlines offers special fares for certain destinations in its Just the way you like program. Passengers can fly to Nakhon Si Thammarat for 1,199 Thai Baht. Flights to Trang, Chiang Mai and Phuket are available at 1,299 Thia Baht. Flights to Chiang Rai and Hat Yai are available for around 1,399 as per this offer.

According to its Enjoy for use next month program passengers can book a flight on a particular month and use it the coming month. It is also offering a daily flight to Udon Thani. They are also providing a summer discount program that would be applicable for Trang. Also on offer are free flights for passengers, who were born within 1st July to 31st October, 2011. This is part of its 16th anniversary celebrations.

Passengers of Orient Thai Airlines can buy 12 fly me traveling cards that would cost 16,500 Baht and make sure they can fly to any destination at the same price. It is also offering a Mini I Pass pack that comes at 3,599 Baht and has three vouchers that can be encashed for traveling to Nakhon Si Thammarat. There is also a Mi-Ni Pass pack that has 3 travel cards that are applicable for every destination.

The Thai carrier also allows passengers to select their seats through the internet and this service is provided free of cost. The holders of GO CARDs can make their payments before the flight departs and get 8 to 10% discount on the same.

The Orient Thai Gift Card allows passengers to buy tickets and also deal with other expenses such as airport tax fees, pet fare, additional baggage charges, and date-change fee. The iTicket holders can get free flights upon flying a specified number of flights
