Jetconnect operates within Australia and New Zealand. It was established on 11 June 2001, and started flights a year later in October 2002. It is headquartered in Auckland Airport, and Wellington International Airport is its secondary hub.

Jetconnect Profile

Jetconnect was incorporated on June 11, 2001 and started its flights during October 2002. It is a subsidiary of Qantas and operates primarily within Australia and New Zealand. Its crew is recruited from New Zealand itself and its aircraft is registered in the same country. Till 10th June 2009 it also used to fly domestically within New Zealand before Jetstar took over the reins.

Jetconnect Hubs

The Kiwi carrier is based at Auckland Airport and Wellington International Airport is its secondary hub. Its focus city operations are carried out from Brisbane Airport, Sydney Airport and Melbourne Airport.


Jetconnect Facilities

The passengers of Jetconnect can avail the frequent flyer program of Qantas Airlines, Qantas Frequent Flyer that awards customers on the basis of their allegiance. It has four levels-bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Points are normally provided on the basis of distance traveled-the bonuses tend to be provided with respect to travel class. Passengers can redeem points at flights operated by members of the Oneworld alliance.

The Qantas Club facility is also open to Jetconnect passengers who avail the business class flights and they can be cashed in throughout the world. Membership can be availed in lieu of subscription and comes in three forms – 1 year, 4 years and 2 years. However, passengers who have Platinum or Gold frequent flyer status can avail this benefit as well.

Holders can get access to the business lounge apart from, bar and shower. They also receive other benefits such as priority baggage handling and priority check in and more allowances for luggage. They can also make telephone calls for free and use the calmer areas besides watching television.

Jetconnect Destinations

The short distance flight schedule of Jetconnect changes with regards to its destinations. It offers regular flights to Brisbane, Sydeny and Melbourne from Auckland, and flights to Sydney and Melbourne from Wellington. It also provides flights between Sydney and Christchurch.

The New Zealand airline also operates long distance flights to Brisbane, Melbourne, Coolangatta and Sydney. Till June 9, 2009 it also operated domestic flights. The major destinations were Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, Queenstown and Rotorua.

Jetconnect Fleet

Jetconnect presently has 7 Boeing 737-800s and 2 Boeing 737-400s. The Boeing 737-400s can accommodate 12 people in the business class and 132 people in the economy class. In case of the Boeing 737-800s the flight capacity in business class remains the same but in case of economy class it goes up to 156.
