Indus Air


The erstwhile Indian budget carrier Indus Air started in 2004, with its first flight coming a year later. The company concluded operations in 2008 and flew primarily within India. Leading businessman Kapil Mohan was its patron.

Indus Air History

Indus Air was set up in 2004 and kicked off its flight operations on 14th December 2006. The company received a significant boost in 2005 when well known industrialist Kapil Mohan invested in the company in association with other businessmen. The aviation service provider ceased its flight operations from 2008 onwards.

Indus Air Details

Indus Air operated as a budget airlines service provider within India and was headquartered at Ghaziabad. Its base was Indira Gandhi International Airport. The Indian carrier offered flights to four important cities - Amritsar, Delhi, Chandigarh and Mumbai.

It had a couple of Bombardier CRJ-200ERs at its disposal, which originally belonged to Independence Air. The company had also planned to buy three extra CRJs. The entire fleet was supposed to be expanded to a couple of Bombardier CRJ-700s and three Boeing 737-800s.
