T'way Airlines

The slogan of T'way Airlines is "IT's yours T'way." The Korean aviation enterprise is based in Seoul and provides people the opportunity to travel from Jeju International Airport to Seoul Gimpo Airport on a scheduled basis.

T'way Airlines History

T'way Airlines was incorporated in 2004 when it was known as Hansung Airlines. The company resulted from a joint effort between University of Chungcheong and Cheongju city government. It placed its earliest aircraft order in August 2004 and it was for an ATR 72.

Hansung Airlines was able to procure an AOC in 2004, which meant that it was given the formal permission for flight operations. It flew commercially for the first time on August 31, 2005 between Jeju International Airport and Cheongju Airport.

T'way Airlines expanded its fleet with a couple of ATR 72s and started to operate from Jeju to Gimpo and vice versa. The Korean airline was forced to dispense its operations four months later on December 19, 2005. Budgetary issues were the main problem.

It resumed flights on February 15, 2006 but monetary problems still persisted, which meant that it was shut down again in October 2008. This phase lasted for a couple of years. On August 8, 2010 the Korean airline officially reintroduced itself as T'way Airlines. It was announced that its first flight would be flown on 15th September. On 10th September its new Boeing 737-800 was delivered to the low cost carrier.

T'way Airlines Fleet

Till March 2011 T'way Airlines commands three Boeing 737-800s. On an average these planes are just above 7 years old. Every one of them can accommodate 189 passengers and their layouts can be described as economy class.
