The Swede carrier FlyNordic was headquartered at the Swedish capital. It offered both passenger and chartered flights throughout Scandinavia and Europe. Its hub was Stockholm-Arlanda Airport.
FlyNordic History
FlyNordic was established in 1996 and it was named Reguljair at its initial stages. It started off with domestic flights and had an Embraer EMB 110 Bandeirante. Its license of operation was annulled on November 14, 2000. On the first day of December in 2000 it was reintroduced as Nordic East.
The company got its present name in October 2004. This was preceded by November 2003 when 85% of the European carrier's shares were acquired by Finnair. Finnair also bought out the remaining shares in May next year. During that time a subsidiary enterprise named Nordic Airlink Holding was established.
The company closed operations in 2008 after Norwegian Air Shuttle, who had bought the airline the previous year, stated on 14th March that the carrier would be renamed Norwegian from 5th April that year. This was done so as to unify and strengthen the controlling brand.
