BRA Transportes Aereos


Once the third biggest Brazilian airline, BRA Transportes Aereos was inaugurated in 1999. It started off as a domestic provider of chartered services. It got its latest name after becoming a low cost airline in 2006.

BRA Transportes Aereos History

BRA Transportes Aereos was established in 1999. It operated as a domestic chartered airlines services provider. It was set up by Panexpress Viagens e Turismo and its operating name was Brasil Rodo Aereo. It became a budget airline in March 2006 and received its present name.

The Brazilian airline initiated in July 2007 a codesharing partnership with OceanAir that helped it to greatly add to their domestic capacities. However, the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil was asked on 6th November by the airline to cancel its flights that were scheduled to fly the next day.

It came back in 2009 as a chartered services provider but its only plane was sold to PumAir. On 18th June that year the Brazilian Civil Aviation Agency permitted it to provide passenger services on a non regular basis for one year.

BRA Transportes Aereos Details

BRA Transportes Aereos was headquartered at Sao Paulo. Its CEO was Humberto Folegatti. It offered flights to more than 30 cities in Brazil. Besides, it also provided chartered services to Cologne-Bonn, Oslo, Rome, Oporto, Stockholm and Tel-Aviv. Its scheduled flights headed to Lisbon, Milan and Madrid.

The Brazilian carrier commanded 12 planes including 7 Boeing 737-300s, 3 Boeing 737-400s, and 1 Boeing 737-300ER and Boeing 767-200 each.
