Instituted originally in 1970 as Brymon Airways, BA Connect was bought by British Airways in 1993 before it closed down completely in 2007. It had several operating bases throughout UK.
BA Connect History
BA Connect was set up on January 26th 1970. It was named Brymon Aviation Limited and its operating name was Brymon Airways. The name was altered to Brymon Airways Limited on July 30th 1993. In that year itself British Airways bought the company.
It received a new name following a merger with British Regional Airlines on 28th March 2002 - British Airways Citiexpress Limited and its operational name was British Airways Citiexpress.
BA Connect received its present name on February 1st 2006 and its operations were modeled on a low cost basis. During its tenure it offered a number of flights within UK and across Europe and these services were provided as a representative of its parent company British Airways.
British Airways announced on November 3rd 2006 that BA Connect was being sold to Flybe. On 25th March 2007 the sale was formally completed. The last flight of the airlines came on March 24th 2007.

BA Connect operated from several bases - Belfast City, Glasgow, Birmingham, Guernsey, Manchester, Isle of Man, Southampton, Jersey, Cardiff, Newcastle and Edinburgh. Its frequent flyer program was named Executive Club Premier but it was provided on an invitation only basis. It was headquartered at Manchester Airport.
The British carrier had a fleet strength of 48 aircraft including 18 Embraer ERJ 145 EUs and 10 Embraer ERJ 145 EPs.
