The low-cost Mexican carrier Aero California started to function in 1995 and closed operations in 2008 after a long strike. The aviation service provider operated in Mexico mainly.
Aero California History
Aero California was initiated in 1960 and dealt in air taxi services. At its inception the company was headquartered at La Paz in Baja California Sur and was named Servicios Aereos. In 1995 it started to function as a budget airline.
The Mexican carrier had faced problems with its passenger security arrangements. It was closed in 2008 after Ministry of Transport and Communications issued a suspension order because it had incurred a debt from Mexican Air Traffic Control. Its workers started a strike on 5th August and it is yet to come to an end.

Aero California’s hub was Mexico City International Airport. Its focus cities were Don Miguel Hidalgo International Airport and General Abelardo L Rodriguez International Airport. It worked with 13 McDonnell Douglas DC-9-32 aircraft.
It offered flights to 17 destinations within Mexico - Baja California, Jalisco, Baja California Sur, Nayarit, Chihuahua, Nuevo Leon, Coahuila, Puebla, Colima, Sinaloa, Durango, Sonora and Mexican Federal District.
