Hemus Air was set up as a separate company in 1999. It ended its operations in 2010, when it was integrated into Bulgaria Air. Its hubs were Sofia Airport and Varna Airport. It had a fleet size of 13.

Hemus Air Details

Hemus Air was based in Sofia. It provided both international and domestic airline services from Varna and Sofia. It also dealt in charter, air ambulance and cargo services.

The erstwhile Bulgarian airline had a fleet of 14 aircraft with 4 BAe 146-200s and 3 BAe 146-200s. It had a couple of Airbus A319-100s and ATR 42-300s. It also had an Avro RJ70 and Boeing 737-300 each. Its destinations are now operated upon by Bulgaria Air.

Hemus Air History

Hemus Air was incorporated as an independent set up in 1999. It ceased to operate independently in 2010 after it became a part of Bulgaria Air. The airline got its name from one of the older names of Balkan Mountains. It was under the ownership of TIM, a financial set up based in Varna. It had been previously owned by Balkan Bulgarian Airlines and was originally founded in 1986.
