The airport of Apia is situated only five minutes from the Apia city centre. Domestic flights to Apia as well as from Apia are available. In the airport named Fagali'i domestic flights arrive. Polynesian Airlines which is the domestic airline of Western Samoa has daily flights connecting Maota Airstrip in South eastern Savai'i.


There are even International flights to Apia connecting it with the major cities of the world. All International flights come at Faleolo Airport which is about 32km or 19 miles from the city of Apia. Air New Zealand has regular flights between Los Angeles and Apia. Apia flights also include Polynesian Blue which is a joint venture between government of Samoa and Virgin Blue connects Apia to Sydney and Auckland. Air Pacific flies between Apia and Fiji. Cheap flights to Apia are also available but should be sought in advance.


The city of Apia is the capital of Samoa. Located near the northern coast of Upolu island, it is also a port. This capital city lies on the mouth of Vaisigano River. It is located on the coastal plain. Mount Vaea lies directly on the south.






Apia abounds in tourists attractions. Robert Louis Stevenson museum is the home and burial site of the poet Robert Louis Stevenson. Apia is famous for the handicrafts of Samoa. There is also a shop called Kava Kavings Handicraft that has local handicrafts like coconut-shell ukuleles, spears, hair clasps etc. It also has imported items from South Pacific countries.

Papapapaitai Falls, Apia is a famous fall that enthralls crowds with its beauty. The water plunges into a crater created out of volcanic eruption. This is also located among the lush green rainforests which endows the place with serene atmosphere and exotic look. Papaseea Sliding Rock is another natural attraction here.
