Airline Attendant Jobs


With the growth of population and improving economy, one can also expect growth in the number of airline passengers. Since the airline industry is continually expanding, a growth is always expected in the employment of cabin attendants.

All the Governments have specified that major airlines throughout their countries are required by law to provide flight attendants to ensure safety and comfort of the passengers abroad commercial flights. Airline hostess jobs, also known as flight attendant jobs and flight stewardess jobs, involve the task of ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers of commercial airline flights.

Experience and Qualifications

A high school degree or Government Equivalence Degree (GED) is the minimal educational requirement before one wants to apply for Airline Attendant Jobs. However, a college degree with one or two years of experience in dealing public will enhance the opportunities for Airline Hostess Jobs or Airline Stewardess Jobs. Flight attendants having multilingual knowledge are preferred by the airline companies as they can accommodate foreign travelers better. Some of the languages, other than English, that are more in demand these days are Mandarin, German, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian

Training Once the candidate is hired for the airline steward jobs, he have to undergo formal trainings for six month to one year; this training period varies from country to country and size and type of the carrier. Airline Hostess Jobs or Airline Stewardess Jobs requires that the candidates are first made to acquaint themselves with the rules and regulations of that company, and are also provided with the knowledge of flight regulations and duties. They are then trained to learn emergency procedures such as evacuating an airplane, operating emergency systems and equipment, administering first aid, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Applicants for Airline Steward Jobs or Airline Stewardess Jobs undergo comprehensive training program which includes product knowledge like food & beverage, passenger handling, and language and communication skills.
