Miles & More - Swiss International Air Lines

The new Frequent Flyer Program of Swiss International Airlines started in 2006 and is better known as Swiss Miles and More. Swiss Miles and More is operated to a large extent by Lufthansa as Lufthansa has purchased Swiss International Airlines but operates with the brand names originally used by Swiss International Airlines. Travelers may acquire and exchange miles when flying with Swiss and Star Alliance partner airlines.

Miles can be earned simply by traveling on Swiss International Airlines. Every journey on a Swiss airplane adds miles to a member's account. The minimum age for membership happens to be 2. The address offered by the member can be taken as his/her house address if the place is the chief physical residence of the member.

A person can become a member only when he registers into the Miles and More Program of Swiss International Airlines. A person may possess only one membership in his name. As soon as the person becomes a member, he/she is assigned a Miles and More card number which sanctions him/her to earn miles.

The calculation for the Miles & More program depends on the mileage collected by the member. No additional points or miles acquired from programs other than Miles and More may be transformed into Miles and More miles unless Miles and More has collaborations with these other programs. Miles cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash unless specifically mentioned.

Members may exchange their miles for Awards as soon as the number of miles they posses is sufficient for a particular Award.

Each time a member resides in any hotel that has a liaison with Swiss International / Lufthansa, he or she will gain 500 award miles. As a Miles and More member, the passenger will have the opportunity to convert points from the promotional programs of the hotels into award miles.
