Sri Lankan Airlines is the primary air carrier of Sri Lanka.Founded in 1979; the airline operates a fleet of 14 aircrafts to Asia, Europe and Middle East. The main hub of Sri Lankan Airlines is located at Bandaranaike International Airport. The airline is in partnership with Emirates which has a handsome share in the company.
Every mile flown in Economy class gets 1 Skyward Mile while 1.5 miles are received on every mile flown in Business class travel. Every mile flown in First class travel gets two Skyward Miles. Skyward Silver members get an additional 25% of journey while Gold members get 50% of journey. Emirates also offer more miles if the booking is done online. Miles can also be spent on free flights on partner airlines or to upgrade to Business or First class in Sri Lankan Airlines. Skyward members can also purchase miles at 2.5 cent per mile with a minimum purchase of 2000 miles and maximum of 25000 miles in a calendar year. These bought miles do not count towards up gradation in membership status.
Skywards has three types of membership programs-Blue, Silver and Gold.
New members in Skywards program are given the Blue level. The benefits given in this level are:

- Pre arranged seating
- Online benefits
- Special meals
The eligibility to become a member in Silver status is that the members must get 25000 miles in one year. Apart from the benefits of the Blue level, there are added benefits like:
- Airport lounge access
- Priority check-in
- Excess baggage allowance
- Priority baggage delivery
Members must get 50000 miles per year to qualify for the Gold status. The members in this category can avail all the benefits of the Silver class along with the following benefits:
- Exclusive use of Gold Desk at Dubai
- Guaranteed Seat Reservations
- E-gate Privileges
- Opening Doors reward system
