Madinat Al Shamal is a small town in the country of Qatar. The uniqueness of the place lies in the fact that Madinat Al Shamal is surrounded on three sides by the Persian Gulf. The south of the place is linked to the mainland.
Madinat Al Shamal is situated on the northernmost point of the peninsula of Qatar. It includes the area comprising Ras Rakan. The beauty of the place is accentuated by the blue waters of the Persian Gulf in three directions. Madinat Al Shamal in Qatar is bordered by two municipalities. The two municipalities are Al Ghuwariyah municipality and Al Khawr municipality. The municipality of Al Ghuwariyah lies in the southern direction of Madinat Al Shamal at Qatar. The municipality of Al Khawr lies on the south-eastern direction of Madinat Al Shamal. Madinat Al Shamal is approximately 50 kilometers distant from the Qatar capital city of Doha.
Al Ghuwariyah lies on the western edge of the shoreline bordering the waters of the Persian Gulf. The Al Khawr urban settlement is situated on the north-eastern coast of the Qatari Emirate. The historic rulers of the Madinat Al Shamal region were the Al Thani family. The Al Thani family forms the ruling emirate of Qatar. Bedouin tribes form the ethnic population of the region.
