Al Khuwayr

Al Khuwayr, a seaside town, is situated in Qatar in the Middle East. Qatar, a peninsula lying in the Arabian Gulf, is bound by water on its three sides. Its terrestrial territory is marked only at the southern part where the state of Saudi Arabia lies.



Al Khuwayr lies between 26° 4' 29 North latitude to 51° 5' 1East longitude. The city has a population of above 3500 approximately. The official language of communication is Arabic. But the usage of English as means of communication is also quite wide. There are some beautiful mosques present in the city.

The climate is rather warm in the day but the nights are comparatively chilly. The warm morning beach and the cool seaside evenings make Al Khuwayr an ideal spot for tourists. Tourism in Al Khuwayr is therefore quite booming.



The marine situation favors the industry of fishing in Al Khuwayr. Fishing is one of the chief sources of earning for the locals. Hamour is the most popular fish in Al Khuwayr. Besides, lobster, crabs and shrimps are also found in the surrounding water of the Persian Gulf.

Facilities of transportation in Al Khuwayr is considerably easy as one can simply avail the taxis either in the form of expensive limousines or the cheaper orange and white taxis.

The nearby cities and towns are Umm Al Qubur, Ar Rakiyat, Al Arish, Ar Ruwaydah and Ath Thaqab. The airports close to Al Khuwayr are Bahrain INTL, Shaikhisa, King Abdulaziz Ab and Al Udeid Ab.
