Christmas in Qatar is not a grand celebration like Eid. Islam is the primary religion that is followed in Qatar, followed by Hinduism and Christianity. Since it is an Islamic country, Christmas is not celebrated with much pomp and glory as the other festivals. There are Christmas trees, lighting and other decorations to celebrate the festival with grandeur. Special food and drinks are also arranged to entertain the guests.
Not only limited to the US soldiers, tourists to Qatar can also get an essence of Christmas in some selected places of Qatar. There, the houses, roads and hotels are decorated and illuminated with colored papers, balloons, Christmas trees and colorful lights. Christmas dinner parties are also arranged in several houses in Qatar. Gifts are also exchanged with each other during the Christmas festivities in Qatar. With modernization and migration of people from various parts of the world, Qatar Christmas has gained popularity with people.
