Qatar Military is mainly responsible for providing defense service to the country.
Qatar Military basically looks after the physical security of the country and they try their level best to prevent external foreign aggression. At present, approximately 4.2% of the Gross National Product is being spent on the defense expenditure of Qatar.
The
military force of Qatar comprises of 11,800 men. Out of them 1500 are for the air force, 8500 for the army and 1800 for the naval force. In August 1994, Qatar signed a defense agreement pact with France. In that it agreed to buy 12 Mirage 2000-5 EDA/DDA aircraft. Apart from this it also entered into defense pacts with the United States of America. The minimum age for joining the Qatar military is 18.
The
military of Qatar is well trained and they are equipped with all the modern arms and ammunitions so that they can give their best efforts in fighting the war. The people with determination, courage, will power and feeling of patriotism are mainly recruited in military branch of Qatar. Apart from protecting the country in the national front, the Qatar Military also looks after individual security of the people. They are actually driven by the force of national unity and they are highly dedicated to sacrifice their lives at any cost to save their motherland from aggression by external power.
