The
Qatar Infrastructure is highly commendable. The highly developed and the extensive infrastructure of Qatar owe much of its credit to the oil wealth from the 1950's. The country of Qatar comprises of excellent networks of primary and secondary roads, which links Doha, the capital of Qatar with all the major areas across the country. The country of Qatar has four airports. Doha International Airport is the most famous one. Doha is served by 28 airlines. Qatar has three ports and harbors namely Halul Island, Doha, and Umm Sa'id.
The
infrastructure of Qatar is well equipped with quality telecommunication network. The telephone service is supplied by the Qatar Public Telecommunications Corporation. 55% of this company is controlled by the government. At present there are 4,30,000 landlines in the country and Q-Tel is planning to come up with internet and cable connections. Thus we can say that Qatar Infrastructure can be compared with the best ones in the world.
Qatar Infrastructure assures smooth flowing of electric power between Ras Abi Aboud and Ras Abu Fontas Power Stations. Apart from this there are six gas turbines and 5000 diesel units all over the country. The total power capacity of Qatar is estimated at 2019 mega watt. In the year 2000 the government decided to install an independent power plant, which can generate a power capacity of 1902 MW so as to meet the rising demands of power.
