Qatar is an Arab State. The country of Qatar follows a monarchic form of government. The present Qatar Prime Minister is Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
The current Qatar Prime Minister belongs to the Al Thani family. The Al Thani family is the ruling family of Qatar state. The Prime Minister of Qatar advises the Emir of Qatar on all matters of state. He is also responsible for the proper administration of the country. The Prime Minister in Qatar assists the Emir to choose members of the Consultative Assembly. The Consultative Assembly is equal to parliament in the country of Qatar. He also helps the Emir to pass judgment on the correct enactment of Sharia laws in the country.
The current Qatar Prime Minister is a military graduate from the elite Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in the United Kingdom. He completed his basic schooling in Qatar itself. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalifa Al-Thani had an exemplary military record. He held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel at the time of his retirement from the Qatar military. He entered Qatari politics in 1989. The first political post held by him was as Minister of the Interior. He is multilingual and speaks English and French in addition to his native language.
