The country of Qatar is located in the Arab region of west Asia. The current Qatar President is Abdallah ibn Khalifah Al Thani. He is the younger sibling of the Emir of Qatar.
The Qatar President is a well educated individual. He was born on 1959 in the Qatar capital Doha. Abdallah ibn Khalifah Al Thani is the younger brother of the present Emir of Qatar-Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani. His early years were spent in his native country. Abdallah ibn Khalifah Al Thani passed his school leaving examinations in 1975. He joined the elite Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in the United Kingdom to complete his military training. After his graduation from the academy, the future President of Qatar joined the Qatar military. He served the military with distinction and retired from the armed forces with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
The Qatari President had an illustrious political career before he ascended the Presidentship. He cut his teeth in Qatar politics when he was appointed Minister of the Interior in 1989. He was appointed the Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar in 1995. He was appointed as Prime Minister of Qatar in 1996. Abdallah ibn Khalifah Al Thani succeeded to President of Qatar in 2007.
