Azores

Azores is a group of islands in the Portuguese Republic. Nine offshore islands make up the Azores in North Atlantic. This picturesque island group is placed 900 miles away from the shoreline of Portugal. The total landmass of the Azores islands is estimated to be 2, 333 square kilometers. The chain of Azores islands extends over 600 kilometers.

The islands of Corvo and Flores are located in the northwestern part of Azores.

The geography of Azores Portugal is characterized by mountainous landscape. The island of Pico comes with a highest elevation of 7,713 from the sea level. Volcanic eruptions are very common in the islands of Azores. Weather in Azores features the subtropical climatic conditions. Due to high humidity and soothing climatic conditions, Azores offers an excellent collection of rare vegetation.
