Poland Soccer is highly popular and has gained international fame with its efficiency and long-term experience of playing. Being the most-played and most-watched sport Poland has been home to several professional soccer teams which have produced many world-class players. The first professional football clubs were been established in the early 1900s and the national soccer team of Poland played its first international match in the year 1921.
The history of Poland Soccer begun in late 19th century with the enhanced popularity of the new sport. The first professional Polish soccer clubs were probably the Lechia Lwów, Pogo? Lwów, Cracovia Kraków, Czarni Lwów and Wis?a Kraków. The national federation of Poland is called Polish Football Union had been established on 20th December, 1919, in Warsaw and around 31 delegates elected Edward Cetnarowski as its first president. PZPN joined FIFA in the year 1923 whereas UEFA in 1955.
Soccer begun its career in Poland in late 19th century. Soon it started gaining huge popularity among the Poles and a proper Poland National Football team has been established which started operating under the guidance of the Football Association of Poland.
This national Poland Soccer team took part in several international games that has brought it an immense popularity and tremendous reputation.
Poland Soccer team played its first international match on December 18, 1921 in Budapest against Hungary and won the Gold medal in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. Apart from this it also got the Silver medal in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and in 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. It also played in the World Cup, for several times and finished third twice, in 1974 and 1982.
