Warsaw University is the biggest University in Poland. The Royal University of Warsaw, Poland was established in the year 1816. It is considered to be the most influential academic center of Poland. The first institutions being established in the Duchy of Warsaw were the Medical School and the Law School. In 1816 Tsar Alexander I allowed the Polish authorities to create an university, having 5 departments. Below is the list of those departments

university soon started expanding but in the November 1830 when most of the students and professors participated in Uprising the university was closed down.
