Peru is well known as the central point and the seat of the Inca civilization. The Inca were a great race, who migrated and assimilated gradually into Peru and went on to become the greatest pre-Colombian civilization in South America. In Peru, Inca civilization still remains a legendary part of history, and there are many great Inca monuments strewn all over Peru.
The Inca were believed to be a race or tribe of noble warriors, who lived in semi arid regions close to Peru. As tales and legends would say, the Inca rule was started when the founders migrated from the Tiahuanaco region to the fertile valleys of Cuzco. The founders, Manco Cápac and Mama Ocllo, were said to be blessed by the Sun God, who the Incas worshiped.
From these rudiments, the Peru Inca empire gradually grew stronger, as it went on to become the strongest and most dominant civilization in South America, eclipsing the Maya and the Aztec civilizations. The Inca were great warriors, and their government was based on hierarchical structures, and was rules by the king, or the Inca, whom people worshiped as God.
The Inca empire expanded rapidly, sometimes through war and conquest, and sometimes through peaceful negotiation and treaties. They were remarkably ahead of their times, being extremely advanced in the fields of technology, mathematics and astronomy. Their weapons and armors were intelligently made, and Inca architecture was strong and lasting, so much so that most of it withstood later damage by earthquakes.
The Peru Inca empire declined with decadence in the government, and Peru was taken over by the Spanish Conquistadors in the sixteenth century.
