The lavish colonial buildings, palaces, courtyards, elaborate gates made in the baroque style are fascinating. Though much of it was destroyed in an earthquake, the remaining few are enough to convey the charm of the old days.
Lima being the Capital of Peru has easy access by all the routes. Domestic and international fights are available from the Jorge Chavez International Airport. This city is connected to various places like LA Oroya, Huancayo, Puno-Cuzco by rail. Ships can be availed from the Callao port. You can have access to many places by bus from Lima. Buses are also available to Lima from other places as well and this a much preferred journey in Peru.
