Peru Money



Peru Money includes the Peru currency Nuevo Sol. The monetary notes of Peru are very colorful and bright. In the late 1970s Peru began giving a watermark on the bills. The big white portion on Peru money bills is the watermark which contains the picture of the person on the bill's right hand side. The bill includes the picture of not only the President of Peru but also some famous figure of Peruvian History. On the backside of every bill a distinctive scene of the culture of Peru is seen.

There are three monetary systems in Peru and they are-
  • Sol
  • Inti
  • Nueva Sol
During the mid 1980s the Peruvian money was changed to Inti system. In the year 1991 the monetary system of Peru was again changed into Nueva Sol.

In Peru economy Peru money occupies a significant position. Except US Dollars it is very difficult to change any other currency in Peru.

The airports of Peru have banks and exchange booths for converting money into Nuevos Soles.

In your travel to Peru you should always have cash on hand. US Dollars are very easy to exchange in Peru. Peru shops and restaurants `accept dollars. You can find ATMs in the main cities of Peru. Casas de cambio which is an exchange bureau offers better exchange rates than Peruvian banks and hotels. You should always avoid street moneychangers in Peru. You should always exchange money in Peruvian banks for getting more security and guarantee.
