Johnny Mazetti is one of the favorite recipes of Panama. It is a popular casserole which mainly includes pasta, ground beef and tomatoes. The owner of Marzetti restaurant located at Columbus, Ohio conceptualized the idea of Johnny Mazetti.
The name of the recipe was given after his younger brother. It is basically a migratory dish of Panama, which became popular among the American emigrants living in Panama. This is an ideal recipe for a large gathering, and it also takes less time for preparation.
Johnny Mazetti Ingredients
The ingredients required for preparing this recipe are listed below:
- Tomato sauce one can
- Garlic powder one teaspoon
- Arturo sauce one can
- Grated Cheddar cheese one lb.
- Mushrooms one large can
- Italian seasoning one teaspoon.
- Onions one lb.
- Egg Noodles two packets
- Jar Green Olives one large sized
- Green Peppers one lb.
- One and half lbs- two lbs Ground Beef
Johnny Mazetti Preparation
Fry the ground beef until it turns brown, drain it and then pour it in a big pot. Peppers, olives, celery, mushrooms and onions should be finely chopped. Then garlic powder and seasoning should be added with the meat. All the ingredients need to be finely mixed. After this, the paste and sauce are added and thoroughly mixed. Now put this on a medium low fire.
In another can cook the noodles. After the noodles are boiled, add all the ingredients and stir well. After finishing, it must be placed on a pan in layers with shredded cheese in between two layers and on the top. Take butter of about 4 teaspoon and place it on top and keep it in the oven for 45 minutes to increase the taste.
