The Panama Government comprises of the executive branch, the legislature, the judiciary, provincial and municipal governments, and the state agencies regulating the administration. The legislature is elected by a confidential election, for a term of five years.
The Panama executive branch comprises the President and two vice presidents. The Panama Government also includes a Panama unicameral legislative assembly that works under the strict supervision of the legislative branch. This particular assembly consists of seventy two members. The Panama judiciary is an important part of the Panama Government and is comprised of nine alternates and nine magistrates, who are all appointed by the Panama President, in agreement with the legislative assembly. It also includes tribunal and municipal courts in Panama.
The Panama Government also includes the electoral tribunal, which supervises a fair election procedure. It also takes the responsibility of voter registration and supervise the activities of the competing parties. The Panama citizens above 18 years of age have the right to vote. Driven by democratic policies, the Panama Government believes in working for the people, by the people and of the people.
The Panama Government also believes that it is the responsibility of the people to work towards the development and prosperity of the country, which is only possible when the people are aware of the various Government policies. The Panama Government also encourages its citizens to play a fair role in the government elections and elect candidates on the basis of their eligibility.
