Santiago is one of the Panamanian cities, which is situated in the southern part of Veraguas and its Capital. It is close to the Herrera province of Panama. Santiago city is the capital of Veraguas province in Panama.


Santiago is the capital of Chile. It was founded by Pedro de Valdivia on February 12, 1541, and was named Santiago de Nueva Extremadura. The city developed much with its uninterrupted economic growth and became one of Latin America’s most sophisticated metropolitan areas. The city suffered slight damage during the War of Independence in the Battle of Maipu. It was named the capital in 1818. The extraction of nitrate fertilizer in Northern Chile enhanced the development of the city. The city, which remained a small town during the 19th century grew into a modern city in 1930 and is now considered an important financial center in Latin America. It is also the most important industrial and financial center of Chile and its largest city.

Tourist Attractions: The number of museums that preserve the historical and cultural artifacts of the city is visited by tourists.

Transportation: Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport serves the city. Trains operated from Chile railway station connect the city with other areas of the country. Buses and taxicabs include the public transport in the city. The highways and subways are proof of the well-built road network of the city.

Places of Attraction: Santiago museums preserve the story of the city. Its main museums are Centro Cultural Palacio de La Moneda, Museo Arqueologico de Santiago, Museo de Santiago Casa Colorada, Museo Catedral Metropolitana, Museo Colonial San Francisco, Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino and Museo Historico Nacional. The city also offers many recreational centers like San Cristobal Hill, which includes the Santiago Metropolitan Park Zoo, O’Higgins Park, Forestal Park, and Cerro Santa Lucia. Santiago is known for vineyards that include Concha y Toro, Santa Rita, Santa Carolina, and Cousino Macul. The important cultural places in the city that are often visited by tourists include Museo de Bellas Artes, Barrio Bellavista, cultural and bohemian neighborhood, Central Station, railway station designed by Gustave Eiffel Victor Jara Stadium, Ex National Congress, Plaza de Armas- the downtown square and Palacio de La Moneda- the government palace.
