Palestine Academy for Science and Technology is a non - profit organization that has its headquarters in Jerusalem. The organization has its branches at Ramallah and Gaza. It is an autonomous and public organization that aims to provide training in the field of science and technology. It was established in the year 1997 and reconfirmed in 2004.
The Academy for Science and Technology in Palestine is one of the the primary technical institutes in the country. It provides advice during the formulation of policies, plans and projects etc. It helps in the development of the country by taking part in the regulation of the different scientific and technological activities.
The various objectives of
Palestine Academy for Science and Technology are as follows:
- To flourish, organize and encourage science and technology for the development of policies to fulfill t the National Priorities.
- To counsel the Parliament, Government, Universities and research institutes in the area of Science and Technology.
- To fulfill the requirements of the institutions and also the researchers that work in the field of Science different tools and services are developed by the academy, like databases and an information network.
- It has taken special initiative to encourage and co-ordinate science and technology in the society of Palestine.
Since its establishment the Palestine Academy for Science and Technology has contributed immensely to develop science and technology in the country.
