Jordan River

One of the major rivers of Palestine is the Jordan River. The extreme northern point of Palestine has the source of the Jordan River. The point of the origination of the river Jordan is the Paneas cave.

At the point of initiation of the river the Jordan River has a narrow stream but as the course of the river proceeds, the pace and the volume of the river increase. To the river Jordan many streams get added in the course of the flowing of the river.

In the summer season the depth of the river Jordan in Palestine is only about 3 feet deep and in the winter months the depth of the river Jordan of Palestine increases. The river Jordan is pure and is also used by the Palestine people for the purpose of drinking.

The stream of the river is very fast and it becomes very difficult even for a good swimmer to cross the river. There are three bridges that span the river Jordan at Palestine. The first bridge is s stone bridge which has a length of 60 paces. The second bridge is at the south of Chinnereth. The second bridge is popular by the name of Djisr Midshama which means the Bridge of Confluence of the Waters. The Jordan River has the total length of 320 kilometers.
