The
Pakistan Media System comprises of the print and electronic mediums. The
Pakistan TV forms the electronic media. A small television station operating from Lahore, pioneered
Pakistan in the world of television broadcasting on 26th November 1964. Television stations gradually came up in Rawalpindi and Islamabad in 1967 and in Quetta in the year 1974. The
Pakistan Television Corporation Ltd is the national broadcaster of Pakistan. The main aim of the national broadcaster is to educate, inform the masses besides entertaining them.
Pakistan Television Channels
The Pakistan TV came into being with the Pakistan Television Corporation. It is the national broadcaster of Pakistan. The national television is governed by the board of directors duly appointed by the
Pakistan Government. The Corporation is headed by Managing Director, who is nominated by the Pakistan government after the consent of the Board of Directors. He is also the Administrative and the Executive Head of the Pakistan Television Corporation. It is the head who steers the corporation and its 6000 employees. The Pakistan TV focuses on the news and latest happenings coupled with other programmes. Some of the feathers to add to the cap of the channel are to establish its own website, to build the world's largest transmitter named the Taji Mori at an height of 12,500 feet and so on.
