Pakistan Time

Pakistan time is the time zone of Pakistan followed by its nationals. Geographically, Pakistan is situated in the southern part of the Asian continent on the world map, and lies in the north west part of the Indian subcontinent. The geographical coordinates of Pakistan are 31 degree 34 minutes North and 74 degree 22 minutes East. Pakistan time is one of the most important thing for a foreigner seeking information about Pakistan. Time in Pakistan is calculated according to the Pakistan Standard Time. Every country has its standard time, which is followed throughout the country by its nationals. The Pakistan Standard Time is the national time of Pakistan. It is five hours ahead of the Greenwich Mean Time(GMT). Greenwich Mean Time is the standard time, which is followed by the travelers traveling internationally. The standard time of every country is either ahead or back of the Greenwich Mean Time according to their geographic location.

The Pakistan time does not follow the Daylight Saving (Summer) Time like the western countries, which experience less summers and major winters. At first the country thought of following the Daylight Saving Time, but gradually it was found after one year that people were getting confused about the actual time in Pakistan. Therefore the government of Pakistan shed the decision of following the Daylight Saving (Summer) Time. However the country followed the daylight Saving Time for one year and the time was calculated as six hours ahead of the Greenwich Mean Time.
