The Pakistani Siberian ibex is mainly found in the northern areas of Pakistan, expanding about 72 thousand kilometers. The Siberian ibex is fond of the rocky mountains and the beautiful climate is an added advantage to the ibex. The northern area of Pakistan is divided into five districts namely the Ghizer, Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer and the Ghanche. Therefore the ibex is known by different names according to the colloquial language of the districts. The Pakistani Siberian Ibex is counted among the Pakistan wildlife. The female ibexes are short in size compared to the male ones. The aged males bear a gaudy chocolate color changing brown in summer and growing darker during winters. On the other hand the young and the female ibexes have golden brown color in summer, which gradually turns into grey brown with the commencement of winter.
The Pakistani Siberian ibex is mainly named after the country of Siberia. The ibex are largely found in central parts of Asia and are also named as the Asiatic ibex. The Pakistani Siberian Ibex are gradually declining in number as lot of indiscriminate hunting is done coupled with less habitat. Regarding the breeding of ibex, most of the neonates are born in the months of May and June and twin neonates are very common. Besides the northern areas of Pakistan they are also inhabit the western parts of Afghanistan, southern Uzbekistan, Mongolia, the Himalayan belt and other parts of Russia. The Chitral Gol National park also shelters Siberian ibex alongwith markhor and Ladakh urial.
The Pakistani Siberian ibex is one of the rarest wildlife species protected by the government of Pakistan. The Pakistan fauna is amazing.
