Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad
Shifa International Hospital was founded on 20th of September, 1897 as a result of the initiatives taken by Dr. Zaheer Ahmed. This hospital was started as a privately run hospital that worked towards the betterment of public health in Pakistan. However, this hospital was taken over by the Government on 12th of October, 1989. Initially, this hospital was based in the residence of Dr. Zaheer Ahmed itself, but later on it was transferred to the Blue Area in Islamabad. Today, Shifa International Hospital stands as a five storey building.
