Pakistan foreign policy is decided by a number of factors, some of the most important being its reasons of partition from India as well as its separation from East Pakistan. At present, under the Presidential government, Pakistan has been improving its relation with the United States of America. Pakistan Foreign Policy depends largely on the nuclear deals made by country. However, the most important issues regarding the foreign policies of Pakistan include its relation with the neighboring countries, especially China and India.
KASHMIR-PAKISTAN
Kashmir has been the cause of intermittent wars between India and Pakistan but recently this issue has mellowed down due to success of Pakistan foreign policy. Today, Pakistan occupies a third of Kashmir, which is called Pakistan Occupied Kashmir or POK.
PAKISTAN-CHINA
The Pakistan China relation has always been one of mutual understanding and cooperation. The foreign policies of the two countries have always been amiable and helpful and the duos proudly call themselves strategic partners.
PAKISTAN-BANGLADESH
Pakistan and Bangladesh was one nation at the time of Independence from the British Raj but after the conflict over the language issues, there were further conflicts regarding the administration of Bangladesh. After India fought on the sides of the East Pakistan, Bangladesh gained independence on the 26th of March 1971. At present both the countries play an important role in bringing about the development in the South East Asian countries.
THE BRITISH HIGH COMMISSION ISLAMABAD
The British High Commission, Islamabad is stationed in Pakistan with the objective of looking after all issues of consular services between the two countries, the Pakistan UK relations and trade and investment issues.
