The preparations for Eid in Pakistan starts with the very beginning of the Ramadan or popularly called Ramzaan month. Pakistan Eid is the biggest occasion that the people celebrate and the preparations related to this celebration include shopping for clothes, new utensils, renovations and of-course preparing a variety of sweet dishes, before the big day of Eid. The people of Islam religion are truly strict about maintaining their religious laws and in the month of Ramadan, they keep fast for the whole day and only eat after the sunset and before the sunrise. They perform their prayer five times a day and follow this rule strictly. Wherever they are and whatever they do, it is compulsory for them to perform their prayer at the correct time. On the last day of the month of Ramadan, the Maulwi that is the chief cleric of the mosque announce the Eid after seeing the moon.
The day of Eid or the Eid- al- Fitr in Pakistan starts with the particular kind of a sweet-dish that is made of vermicelli. This is the reason why this Eid in Pakistan is also known as meethi or sweet Eid. On the day, the men of Islam religion go to the mosque, offer prayer and wish each other by saying Eid- Mubaarak that means Happy- Eid. The elders of the family present the kids or the younger with gifts that are known as- Eidi. In the occasion of Eid, the markets and shops in Pakistan are decorated and there are even special discounts on the occasion of Eid. Pakistan Eid is celebrated with a great pomp and show and it is a way of the Islams to show their love for their God.
