Lahore Stock Exchange (Guarantee) Limited was established in October 1970 and was made operational under the Securities and Exchange Ordinance, 1969. This was a big step on behalf of the government of Pakistan to meet the economic needs of Pakistani Punjab. It started with all of 83 members when the Lahore Stock Exchange was housed in the Bank Square, Lahore. The next twenty five years saw the considerable growth to 105 seats for the brokers in Lahore Stock exchange or LSE. Presently, the Lahore Stock Exchange has been permanently shifted to 19-Khayaban-e-Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Lahore.
The Board of Directors of Lahore Stock exchange include President LSE, Mr. Noshir F. Dastoor and Vice President Mr. M.Tabassum Munir, Mazhar Rafique, Arif Ali Shah Bukhari, Shahid Mahmood, Anwar Ahmad, Tanvir Malik, Afzaal Sharef, Group Capt.(R) Naeem A. Khan Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Mian Nusrat-ud-din, Haji Malik Muhammad Rafi and Khawaja Sami Rashid.
The Lahore Stock Exchange has been making significant improvement in areas of exchange trading, equity and clearing system. Brokers in LSE can make their choice of services. The services range from market services to data clearing services. Lahore and the Karachi equities services are the two significant choices for the investors to the Lahore Stock Exchange.
